Swan Lake Skirt
The swan lake skirt is a made to measure, size adjustable skirt that is customizable to be a mini, midi, or maxi skirt based on your length preference. This project is perfect for a flowy summer project, as a layering piece, or as a way to use up scrap yarns!
It is recommended to use a 3mm hook with a sport or fine weight yarn as the base color, and a complementary lace color to switch off with. However, you can stick to just one of these weights if preferable.
The pattern includes a tester look book with photos of each tester’s skirt and how much yarn they used. Below is a basic guide of how much yarn is recommended, but I suggest looking through the look book as well to find a skirt that best matches your size and length to help decide your yardage!
Estimated yardage range if making a mini:
XS: ~200 yds
S: ~250 yds
M: ~300yds
L: ~400 yds
XL: ~500 yds
Add an additional 50-100 yds for each size increased or decreased (pattern is made to measure, so there is no cap on how big or small you can make it!)
Estimated yardage range for making a maxi:
Xs: ~700 yds
S: ~ 900 yds
M: ~1,000 yds
L: ~1,200 yds
XL: ~ 1,400
add or subtract an additional ~100-200 yds per size increased or decreased
as this is a free flowing skirt, there is no necessary gauge to meet.
