Sway is a beautiful shawl that starts at the top in the centre, expanding into triangular shape and ending with gentle lace. The way the shawl is worked causes the centre of the shawl to sway, well lean to one side, but sway sounds better as a name :). The whole triangular goodness is finished off with playful tassels.

The shawl is worked in two yarns, smooth 4 ply/fingering and delightful Kid Silk Lace, body is worked in stripes and front post stitches resulting in gorgeous texture. The lace border only in Kid Silk, giving it an open and airy feel.

This is version 2 of Sway shawl, the first one was published in Crochet Now magazine last year. I have expanded the body and lace, change the yarns and the shawl has been transformed.

Materials

The Fibre Fox yarn – shop on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/TheFibreFox

Colour A – 1 x Merino Sock Yarn in sh. Briar Rose – 75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon, 425 m (465 yrd) to 100 g.

Colour B – 2 x Kid Silk Lace in sh. Peony – 72% Kid Mohair, 28% Silk, 420 m (459 yrd) to 50 g.

I have used above yarn, but any 4ply/fingering or light 4ply/fingering yarn will be fine to use for this shawl, taking into account that different fibres result in different finished effect. You will need approximately 1.265 m (1.383 yds).

4 mm (US G/6) crochet hook or size needed to obtain the tension.

Lockable stitch marker.

Finished size

The completed blocked shawl measures approximately 176 cm (69 in) at the top curve and 67 cm (26 in) deep.
