Sweater "Blooming spring"
Pattern Notes
Blooming Spring sweater is a soft and airy knit designed to feel light, effortless, and slightly playful.
The sweater is worked top-down in the round using a raglan construction, allowing you to try it on as you go and adjust the length if needed. The design features a double folded collar, clean stockinette body, and signature hand-knitted flower details, which are added at the end.
The construction is intuitive and repetitive, making it suitable for confident beginners, while still offering enough detail to keep the process engaging.
Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (XXL)
The sweater is designed to be worn with approx. 6 cm of positive ease.
Choose a size based on your bust circumference.
Gauge
12 sts x 15 rows = 10 x 10 cm
in stockinette stitch, using 5 mm needles, with yarn held double
Materials
• Bulky mohair yarn, held double throughout
• Approx. yardage:
The sweater is worked by holding the yarn double throughout.
For the S size, I needed approx. 270 g yarn (held double)
~250 g (~ 270 g) ~ 320 g (~ 370 g) ~420 g (~500 g)
• Sample shown in:
Sesia “Eiffel” (25 g = 75 m)
70% mohair, 30% silk
Needles
• 5 mm circular needles (for body and sleeves)
• Optional: smaller needles for ribbing (if tighter finish is preferred)
Construction overview
The sweater is worked from the top down.
First, the collar is worked in rib and folded to create a clean double edge.
Stitches are then distributed for raglan shaping, and the yoke is worked in the round with increases every other round.
Once the desired yoke depth is reached, the work is divided into body and sleeves.
The body is worked straight in stockinette and finished with a ribbed hem.
Sleeves are worked in the round, with gradual decreases and finished with ribbing.
Decorative flower elements are knitted separately and sewn onto the finished garment.
Notes
• The sweater is designed for a slightly cropped fit
• You can easily adjust body and sleeve length
• Due to the airy mohair texture, small gauge differences will not significantly affect the final look
• Flowers placement can be customized if desired
