Sweater S
Sweater S
Sweater S is a modern oversized sweater with a high collar, clean stockinette fabric, and decorative cable details along the raglan lines and sides of the body. The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down, making it easy to try on as you go and adjust the body and sleeve length to your preference.
The combination of a relaxed silhouette, soft drape, and simple cable details gives this sweater a timeless Scandinavian look.
Skill Level
★★★☆☆ – Intermediate
Suitable for knitters who are comfortable working in the round and ready to work raglan increases, simple cable techniques, picking up stitches, and basic sleeve decreases.
Construction
The sweater is worked top down in the round.
First, the high neckband is worked. The yoke is then shaped with raglan increases. Cable panels are worked along the raglan lines and continue down both sides of the body.
The sleeves are worked in the round from the underarm to the cuff.

Gauge
15 sts = 4 in / 10 cm in stockinette stitch using US 10 / 6 mm needles.
Always work a gauge swatch before beginning your project.
Yarn Substitution
A substitute yarn can be used as long as you are able to achieve the required gauge of 15 sts per 4 in / 10 cm and create a fabric with a similar soft, lightweight drape.
When choosing an alternative yarn, look for a yarn with similar characteristics to BABY ALPACA MERINO WOOL. A soft wool, alpaca, merino, or blended yarn with good drape and enough elasticity to hold the cable details works especially well.
Because fiber composition, yarn structure, and meterage can vary between brands, always compare gauge and total yardage/meterage rather than relying only on yarn weight classification.
Work a generous gauge swatch before starting and make sure you are happy with both the gauge and the finished fabric.

Design Details
Sweater S combines an uncomplicated top-down construction with carefully placed cable details. The cables follow the raglan lines from the neckline and continue into the side details of the body, creating a subtle decorative feature without overpowering the clean oversized silhouette.
Because the sweater is worked from the top down, you can try it on while knitting and easily adjust the body and sleeve length to suit your preferred fit.
