Writing patterns for wearable items can be hard. Not everybody is sized the same and each has unique needs when it comes to shape and sizing. For hats and headbands, you must consider not only the size of a person’s head but their hair as well. For example, I have very thick and curly hair so traditional hats can be very tight on me and have an awkward fit. Because of these considerations, this pattern is written in a unique way that shows you how to find the length you need to fit the person who will wear it. The final height of the headband averages between 3 inches to 5 inches depending on the type of yarn and size hook you use.

Materials Needed:
Approx 50 to 100 yards of yarn in your choice of Light, Aran, Worsted, or Bulky weight
Crochet Hooks in size 5mm, 6mm, and/or 7mm
Tape Measure
Scissors
Tapestry Needle for sewing in yarn tails

Pattern is written in US Crochet terms and includes picture tutorials for special stitches used.
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
SLST – slip stitch
CH – chain
DC2TOG – double crochet 2 stitches together
VS – V-Stitch
GS – granny square
PUFF – puff stitch
