These are very simple mitts which can be easily adapted to fit smaller/larger hands by either changing needle size, yarn size or adding/removing cast on stitches in groups of 5.

Yarn used: James C Brett Marble DK - a really soft acrylic that is washable/ tumble-dryable. One ball did the pair of wristwarmies and the matching hat. (pattern to follow) I have also made these mitts in random chunky aran for a grown man!

These handwarmies are knit in magic loop fashion. There is a very good Knitpicks tutorial of this on youtube at: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BtBSmxGomPk. Basically, pull out your cable between stitches 15 and 16 so that you have 15 stitches on each pointy end of your circs. then pull the point end with the working yarn out so that the stitches are all lying on the cable, not the needle ends, but you still have your loop between the 15 & 16 stitches. Using your working yarn, work the 15 stitches on the other needle. Move the other stitches onto the empty needle, then move the stitches off your working needle back onto the cable as before. Always maintain the loop in the middle and the empty needle tip on the working yarn side, and work the first stitch of each section tightly to avoid a ‘ladder effect. I find this method much easier than dpns.
