Sweet Maple Sweater has a maple leaf eyelet pattern on the front and back. The sweater has a boat neck which gives it a retro look. The construction of the sweater is untraditional. The front and back are worked (one at a time) in the round from the center out. The shoulder sts are then knit together and the sleeves are worked back and forth in garter st from the sleeve sts on the front and back. Then the side seams are knit together and the bottom rib is worked. Lastly the sleeves are seamed. It is possible to crochet loop at the shoulders if you want a less wide neck opening.
