The cowl is knit in the round as a tube. Both sizes have the same circumference. The shorter size is a quick knit. The longer size is shown in the pictures and makes a more traditional fingering weight cowl which falls loosely and elegantly round the neck. The pattern contains both written instructions and charts.

Cast-On
When knitting the sample, gauge was obtained on 4.0 mm / US6 needles
Note that I am a tight knitter so you may need to go down a needle size to obtain gauge.

I recommend knitting a swatch to make sure your gauge is correct. Otherwise, your cowl may have different measurements and can use up more yarn than defined in this pattern.
