There is a lack of crochet garment designs that are wearable by someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding. The Sweet Pea Wrap Top is designed with these body types in mind, as well as those who are not currently in that stage of life! The bust features an adjustable wrap style that flatters any chest size with some extra coverage on the bottom for modesty. The torso is constructed with enough ease to accommodate a growing belly but also has a nice drape once baby is out of the womb, and is long enough to be worn with any under-the-belly bottoms. The simple yet unique texture of the repeated stitch patterns make this piece classy and elegant, while being simple to work up. This top is crocheted in one piece with additional strands of yarn joined to it to work additional portions of the pattern.

Without modification, this pattern will accommodate a maternity belly. Simple modifications are included to help this pattern fit someone who is not pregnant or who plans to wear this design postpartum as well.

You will need two gauge swatches:
14 HDC x 12 rows = 4” x 4”
With a foundation ch of 17 (sk first ch as it is the turning ch) SC, HDC, DC in same st, sk 2 sts repeat * to * 5 times, 1 SC in last st x 12 rows = 4” x 4”

This pattern calls for worsted weight yarn.

You will need 2 hooks, one needed to meet gauge and then one hook that is a full size smaller than the hook needed to meet gauge.
