These sweet snoozing reindeer hanging decorations are created using basic crochet stitches, great for beginners who want to apply their skills in new ways. Each ornament uses around 15g of DK yarn so they are perfect for using up leftover yarn. They’re a super way to use fancy yarns to add a bit of sparkle too – why not see what you have in your stash to make them extra Christmassy? They’re also a quick make so you can get that finished object feeling in an evening!
The pattern includes full written instructions, with accompanying photos and a video for part of it too. There are two variations for decorating – either holly leaves or a bow, so you can make them your way. They are easy to customize too, with a colour planner included so you can make them to match your festive décor colour scheme. You could even create a whole family of them, or make them as a gift in the recipient’s favourite colour.
As well as being a firm favourite to hang on the Christmas tree each year, these reindeer decorations are also bound to be a hit at craft fairs! I’m happy for the finished items to be sold in small numbers, as long as I am credited as the designer.
This pattern has been thoroughly tested and tech edited – it previously featured in Crochet Now magazine as a basic pattern, which I’ve now revamped and added photos to.
