Please join us Jan.1 - Feb. 28, 2016 for a Color Packs & Stash Scraps Knit-along!

Give your girl a colorful layer to wear over her leggings or jeans, over her tights paired with a skirt, or under loose pants to stay warmer in the winter!

Sweet Georgia Party of Five mini skein sets come in modern & attractive color combinations that you are sure to find a few you love. And the CashLuxe Fine yarn is so soft and buttery to knit up, you’ll be sad that these leg warmers are such a quick knit!

Finished circumferences are 7.25 (8.25, 9, 10)“ and correspond to approximately Baby (2/3 yrs, 4-6 yrs, 8-10 yrs). My model is a smaller-than-average 12 1/2-year-old, and the leg warmers fit her fine, but there are plenty of bigger girls in her grade who these would be tight on, so it’s very difficult to recommend sizes based just on age. For the best fit, measure just under your girl’s calf muscle and choose the size that is about an inch smaller than that measurement. (My model’s “under-the-calf measurement” was 11” and she is comfortably wearing the 10” size. Her “full calf” measurement is 13” and you can see in the pictures how easily the upper fabric & ribbing stretch to accommodate the extra 3”.)

The Yarn:
Sweet Georgia (sweetgeorgiayarns.com) “Party of Five” mini skein set • Cashluxe Fine fingering weight yarn • 70% merino / 20% cashmere / 10% nylon • 5 skiens • 100 yds each • 29 g each

Color A: 55 (70, 88, 100) yds (Please note that the largest size used up almost every last inch of the 100 yds included in the pack, so you may want to begin your project by splitting the Color A skein in half so you don’t accidentally use too much on the first legwarmer. You can easily omit a few rounds of the top ribbing section if you use yarn at a quicker rate than I did.)

Colors B, C, D & E: 35 (43, 52, 60) yds each

Other Materials:
• US Size 3 / 3.25mm circular needle
• US Size 2 / 2.75mm circular needle
(may choose to substitute double-pointed needles if you do not like working “magic loop”)
• 1 traveling stitch marker
• yarn needle

Techniques Used:
• Simple stranded color work (the first and last 2 rows of each new stripe alternate 2 colors)
• “Make 1” increases & “K2tog” decreases
• Knitting in the round
• Suggested Cast On (Alternating Long-Tail Cast On) includes a video tutorial link in the pattern.

Thanks so much to Deidre12345 for doing a great job with the test knit for this pattern!
