Sweet Treats Ice-cream Play Set! Will you order chocolate, vanilla or strawberry? Or maybe create your own new flavours with every colour of the rainbow. This ice-cream play set is sure to be well loved – it’s a perfect addition to any play kitchen. The cone and ice-cream scoop are separate, so crochet up a storm and add as many flavours as you like.

This pattern has been rated as “Easy” meaning it is suitable for beginners to amigurumi. In addition to basic crochet stitches this pattern assumes you have knowledge of working in the round, increasing and decreasing stitches and working through front loop or back loop only. All of these techniques can be easily learnt through free online tutorials if you are not familiar with them. In Rnd 1, the ice-cream cone is started with a magic ring. This can also be learnt through online tutorials, or alternatively, if you prefer, you can ch2 and make 6sc in second ch from hook to begin.

Finished product size is approximately 8cm tall for the cone, and 5cm across for the ice-cream scoop when crocheting using a 3mm hook and using 8ply yarn

Stitches used include: magic ring, chain, single crochet, double crochet, triple crochet, increase, decrease, slip stitch

Materials needed: cotton yarn (less than 20g in 8 play for each colour of cone and ice-cream scoop), crochet hook, toy stuffing, yarn needle to sew in ends, scissors, stitch markers if desired
