Sweetbriar Rose Surprise
Test Knit and Tech Edited
Sweetbriar Rose Surprise is a charming, modular quick knit project. It started as a baby blanket, and then we added a back, so now it is a blanket or a pillow, your choice. We even did the math so you will know how much yarn to use and what size your blanket or pillow will be at lots of different gauges. That means - Use whatever yarn you want - we’ve got you covered.
Gauge is not important
We call it Surprise, because three cast on stitches and a triangle-shaped chart turn into a square. We add a little lace and a touch of cable for interest. Four squares combine and Surprise! A rose magically appears when they are joined together.
Charts not your thing? No worries - line by line written instructions are included.
Variations - Use it as a stash-buster. Make one base square in each of 2 or 4 different colors or make several blocks of 4 and sew them together for a larger blanket or throw. Or follow the instructions to add a back and make a pillow. Add drama with a self-striping yarn.
Final measurement as shown 26” x 26” (66 cm x 66 cm).
Estimated dimensions by gauge - we put a copy of the table in the photos because it didn’t fit here, it also comes in the pattern.
