Sweetheart Tote
The Sweetheart Tote is a cute and practical bag that is equally fun and simple to make. This pattern will teach you to make the heart granny square and then help you make the granny square big enough for the heart tote, assisting adjustments along the way.
Notes:
This pattern uses US terminology
Skill Level - Beginner
Square brackets indicate the pattern and the number of times
it is repeated
Round brackets ( ) indicate the number of stitches you should
have after each round/row.
The stitches between two commas or within brackets are all
supposed to be made into one stitch.
Materials:
Yarn – Weight-3 acrylic yarn in red and white (approx. 100gms
each)
Hook – 4mm hook
Scissors
Yarn needle
Measuring Tape (optional)
You can use this pattern with any type of yarn with the recommended
hook size.
Abbreviations:
mr – magic ring
st/sts – stitch/stitches
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
tr – treble crochet
sk st - skip stitch
sl st – slip stitch
shell - 3dc in same space
ch1-sp/ch2-sp - chain1 space/ chain2 space
