“Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea,
Swim so wild and you swim so free.
Heaven above, and the sea below,
And a little white whale on the go.”
- Raffi and Debi Pike

I designed these socks as a birthday present for my boyfriend. His favorite animal is a beluga and he had bought me a great self-striping yarn from Scrumptious Purl called “Baby Beluga.” I recommend using this yarn for these socks, but you can substitute any other yarn that has stripes that measure 4 to 10 rows tall. You can gauge this by measuring the color sections of your yarn before you knit. Each color section of the yarn should measure 120-300” (305-760cm) in length. For my sample socks, the blue yarn was 144” (365cm) for each color, rainbow yarn was 288” (730cm) for each color).
