Swimming Upstream is a lacy cowl based on the stitch pattern used in my River Ness socks. Despite the name, Swimming Upstream is a quick and easy knit, perfect for both solid and variegated yarns.

Cowl is knitted in the round, and pattern is both written and charted.

Swimming Upstream is written for worsted weight yarn, but can be easily adapted to other weights. A table giving suggested cast on numbers for different gauges is included.
