A gorgeous flared tunic! The main part of the body is worked in bands in a type of “old shale” stitch, with easy shaping between. The pattern forms a super scalloped edge on the bottom edge.
The lacy sections create the wonderful flared shape, both flattering and comfortable to wear.
The yoke is worked in a mixed rib which contrasts beautifully with the main part and gives a lovely fit.
The cap sleeves and neck borders are finished with a picot edging.
For the main part you will need circular needles to hold the stitches until the number reduces. However, the knitting is worked straight in rows, not in the round. So you simply work back and forth in rows on the circular needle.
For the upper section, and until the stitches reduce, you can then use straight 4 mm needles.
The yarn used is a cotton/silk DK yarn which looks great in this design, but if you prefer a lighter weight yarn have a look at King Cole Drifter DK.
