This cowl, knit out of super bulky weight yarn, starts with simple ribbing and then features alternating panels of stockinette and a textured seed stitch bordered by a mock cable that swirl up the sides ending at the 1x1 ribbing at the top.

It measures 23 inches in circumference unstretched so it is wide enough to easily fit over your head and then stand up vertically while wearing so that you can tuck your chin into it for maximum warmth against the cold. You can make this wider if you’d like by adding an additional repeat or taller by knitting more rounds as well, though that will require more yarn. The size was created to allow you to make the largest cowl possible from one skein of super bulky yarn.

This calls for one skein of super bulky weight yarn and looks great in solids, tonal, or variegated yarns.

This cowl is a matching piece to the Swirling Snow Hat.
