This pattern combo includes pattern instructions for a bun hat, bun hat with bill, beanie and billed cap. Stitch count differs. A child size is included.

It was designed with the adult size Bun Hat in mind, but there were so many possibilities with the pattern I had to share them in there too.

It does have stretch. When the bun hat is laid flat it is about 7” high, but can go approximately 8.5 inches in length when worn. The Adult beanie goes about 9.5 inches in height. If the gauge is followed then the hat can stretch comfortably for larger heads.

It is knit sideways with 9mm needles with short rows.
Recommended yarn is Lion Brand Wool-ease Thick & Quick or likewise yarn can be used.

The sides will need to be put together, either by threading the seam or a Kitchener stitch.

The top opening is already stretchy, Unstretched it’s about a 2.5 inch diameter, depending on tension added to top stitches.

It can be done in a day, within a few hours.
