Gauge: 34 sts 37 rows per 10cm in stranded colourwork
Yarn: 4-ply or lace weight
Needles: 2.5mm or size needed to reach the gauge, appropriate for knitting in the round
Sizing: this is one size pattern, please adjust your size by increasing/decreasing the needle size and/or yarn weight. It is designed to fit an average adult head with a very small amount of negative ease, which is important for a stranded colourwork item. If you are knitting in intarsia, please reduce the needle size in order to get more negative ease and a more comfortable hat
Notions: BOR marker, 2 stitch markers, yarn needle

This pattern assumes that you are comfortable with knitting terminology and techniques.

Given the nature of these charts, it may be easier to knit it using intarsia technique or duplicate stitch most of the colours.
