This striking brioche hat showcases two color brioche in a nature-inspired palm leaf stitch pattern by Nancy Marchant from her “Knitting Fresh Brioche” book pp159~160. With bold vertical syncopated brioche color changes tapering to the crown, the hat is worked bottom up in the round maintaining the natural curvature of the palm leaves throughout. This hat is a good introduction to brioche syncopation as the main color switching is at a fixed location between panels. The brioche increase and decrease positions are also static.
The small Ladies size is knit in sportweight, approx 60~70g total. Two colors are used, so approx. 35g each.
For larger sizes adjust needles and use dk yarn.
