This pattern is part of the Wollmeise 2020 Advent Calendar. It will be available to purchase individually through Wollmeise from July 2021.

Synergie is an asymmetric triangle shawl with a widening garter neckline contrasted by a strong graphic design widening along the lower edge of the shape, using a combination of short rows and slipped stitches (mosaic). The design is ideal for playing with contrasting colour.

Because the pattern is worked in mosaic, only one colour is held at a time, and colours are carried up the striped by simply slipping stitches without knitting them.

The design is worked sideways from one corner, beginning with a striped edge, developing into a widening slip stitch motif along the bottom edge. Continue the H motifs until there isn’t enough of the background colour for another full repeat, then switch to the textured garter pattern until you want to bind off. Both sections can worked to any size, allowing as much of each skein to be used as possible.

The pattern can be worked entirely from the written pattern, or from charts with some notes.
