Syyshohto sweater was my very first sweater design that I designed. With this sweater pattern I took part in a yoke sweater design competition organized by Finnish yarn company called Novita. Surprisingly, my design won the whole competition! So Syyshohto sweater was published in August 2021. And now it’s time to release the English version.
For this sweater, I used Novita’s very known sock yarn called 7 Veljestä (which means 7 brothers in Finnish). It’s a basic worsted weight yarn which includes wool and polyamide. When I was choosing colors for this sweater, I really wanted to capture warm autumn hues, when leafs are falling to the ground and winter is coming around the corner.

This sweater pattern is worked top down seamlessly. It includes fair isle yoke pattern. The yoke continues all the way to sleeve and body separation and even beyond that. 6 different colors are used in every chart.
Body part doesn’t have any shaping. Hem also includes smaller fair isle pattern. Ribbing is worked with graphite color.
Same yoke pattern continues to sleeves. After that comes decreasing part to give some shaping to the sleeves. Sleeve also includes smaller fair isle pattern. Ribbing is worked with graphite color.
