These crochet projects are made using yarn cut from T-shirts. Instructions for cutting T-shirt Yarn (Tarn) are included at the end of the instructions.

Size depends on the number of shirts you have and how long you want to keep working.

Gauge will also depend on you. How wide you cut the strips and how large or small your crochet hook. I cut strips approximately ¾” wide, and use a size N crochet hook.

My gauge is generally 6 st x 7 rows = 4” x 4”

You will need t-shirts, old or new will do, sharp scissors and a crochet hook.

My large bag used approximately 27 shirts. My Blue and Green Tote used approximately 8. When you read the instructions you will see the section for using the top part of the shirt. I always use the tops, so my shirt count includes both bottom and top of the shirt.
