The pattern includes 2 options - a vest knitted in stocking stitch or garter stitch.

The vest is short sleeved and the 2 fronts wrap over each other being held closed by ribbons.

The fronts are knitted separately from the bottom up with the edges worked in a diagonal line. The short sleeves are then cast on and both fronts are joined at the top neck with additional stitches and become the back which is worked downwards - an ‘up and over’ design. The front bands are worked from stitches left on a safety-pin after the bottom border has been completed and then sewn to the shaped edge of the fronts.
