Round and round we go! This spiral bag works up quickly and the ruffles pop from the spiral base. The perfect accessory to pull your look together.

The idea for this spiral wonder has been floating around my head for years, but I could never pick the color. When a yellow challenge came up, I instantly knew this bag needed to be the “pop” that I was looking for. The gold ruffles remind me of a marigold with so much bursting out, it’s like the flowers don’t know what to do with it all. That’s this bag. So much joy and fun bursting out from one piece of your crocheted handiwork.

The pattern is worked in a round spiral with ruffles rising around the spiral for the inviting texture that you will want to touch all day. It uses deceptively simple techniques to achieve the lift and structure that makes it work.

I used a contrasting color for the handle, but you could keep it all in one color if you like. I recommend wool or another worsted weight yarn that will be strong and bouncy. Try this in a color-changing yarn or a color cake for a fun gradient effect in the spiral. A simple button close is the finishing touch and then you’re ready to rock your new look.
