Take Deux is a quick and fun knit, perfect for gift giving. It’s cuff allows for the wearer not to struggle with wrapping the scarf “just the right way” around their neck. Simply wrap around and pull the end through the cuff.

This is a one size project, but can be lengthened a widened as desired, just make sure you have extra yarn to accommodate for that.

Special techniques:

  • Provisional cast-on
  • Seaming while purling at the same time

Yarns and yardage used:

This would be equally great made in a bamboo blend as well as any wool blend for added warmth. The mohair could also be left out for those who don’t like it, I just think it adds extra dimension to the trellis stitch. It will look equally beautiful in a high contrast combination as well as tone on tone.

Color A: approximately 250-280 yds/229-257 m of sport or light DK. Suggestions include, Knitpicks Gloss DK, Knitpicks Galileo and Malabrigo Arroyo.

Color B: approximately 40-65 yds/37-60 m used of lace mohair. Suggestions include, Peria mohair, Rowan Kidsilk haze and Anny Plant Fine Kid

Needles:

US size 5/3.75 mm
Plus extra size 5/3.75 mm double point or circular

Gauge:

24 sts by 28 rows equals 4”/10 cm square in stockinette stitch, unblocked

Finished measurements:

4 3/4”/12 cm at narrowest end by 33”/84 cm long
