Taking Root

What first struck me when I visited Prado de Lana Farm were the towering and noble trees.   The pastures of Prado de Lana were guarded by old grandfather Bur Oaks that spread their boughs wide and provided shelter to grazing sheep. As the weather changed to Autumn, large acorns dropped from the trees with frilly tops like fairy dresses.

Now, these sweet sheep and their human family have headed for even greener pastures at their new homestead in Vermont. They will bring with them a few acorns to plant in the fields in hopes that these grand oaks will take root and grow to guard their new land.
