These are just the thing to wear when you need to keep your hands warm but your fingers free. I designed them because I saw a stitch pattern I really liked, but it was knit stranded (of which I am not a fan). So I came up with a slipped-stitch technique to alternate two colors so you only need to work with one color at a time. By doing the thumb as shown, I also eliminated the need for shaping that 1. takes more mental effort, and 2. would have disrupted the stitch pattern. The result is a very quick and very simple pattern that practically jumps off the needles while also giving you ample opportunity to bust small odds and ends of yarn in your stash, since both colors only need very small put-ups of yarn.
