Pattern is in the process of being republished with the hood

This crochet talma was originally featured in Peterson’s Magazine in 1858. It is made in double crochet, with a shell stitch border.

The link includes historical and modern patterns, as well as instructions for the hood… which I did make, but I ended up liking mine better without the hood.
