The Tampuk Manggis Cowl draws its name and inspiration from a traditional motif found in the intricate Songket Minang textiles of West Sumatra, Indonesia. Literally meaning “the crown of the mangosteen”, Tampuk manggis is a symbol of beauty, harmony, and inner strength — a reflection of the balanced and symmetrical blossom at the top of the fruit.

In Minangkabau tradition, the mangosteen isn’t valued only for its sweet fruit, but also for its refined, symbolic floral structure. As a woven pattern, this motif conveys elegance, grace, and cultural richness.

This doubleknitted cowl mirrors that symbolism through its reversible fabric, showcasing a design that is decorative, meditative, and deeply meaningful on both sides, just like its inspiration.
