Delaine Merino is a perfectly-summer wool. It’s soft and buoyant and knits up successfully on needle sizes from US size 2 to 11 2.75 to 8 mm, depending on the kind of fabric--squishy and dense or open and airy--the pattern calls for. In Tamworth, a large needle makes for a floaty summer pullover, airy enough that light filters through the fabric and each stitch is clearly seen. The sweater is worked from the top down, so sleeve and body lengths are easy to adjust. A double strand for the cast on and sleeve bind-off rounds adds durability and a slight rustic note.
