Tanha
This is the sixty fifth square released for the In Mawwi blanket, the original collection was on a series for the ELCG (East London Crochet Group) worksheets in 2023, this was released as part of our June workshop of that year.
This square is worked in Interlocking/double filet crochet from the bottom up.
Double Filet crochet is very similar to interlocking crochet where you work two filet nets interwoven, and this square is a great example of this with the centre section of the square front and back being clearly separate.
Although I recommend DK acrylic, you can use any yarn you like as long as you choose the appropriate hook size but be warned as it is a double layer using cotton can make a blanket quite heavy, but that maybe what you want. Just be aware about making it not feel like a piece of cardboard, it was my first mistake when I started in double filet.
Just a reminder that the reason that I have released these as free is that although the pattern is perfect things like the photos and grammar may not be.
There are no instructions for joining the squares, every one has their own preferences but I use the standard front lacing method that the ELCG use
