I am pleased to present you my new shawl design “TANNE”, which means fir tree in German, just like mominoki does in Japanese.

When I knew that I would participate in Mominoki Abo 2025 about a year ago, I started finding inspiration for a special design that can conclude the year on a high note. And I came up with this design – a shawl inspired by fir trees standing with dignity in deep forests and worked in Mominoki yarn. It could not be more perfect!

The shawl starts at the top of a fir tree, and the characteristic foliage of conifer spreading towards the bottom is shaped in zigzag, and ends with the trunk. It is a enjoyable project from start to end where you can draw a fir tree, using up an entire skein.

When worn, the shawl can give a sharp impression with its jagged line on your back, while viewed from the front, it looks as if you have a sweater around your shoulders and gives a sense of warmth, just like fir trees standing nobly and watching clemently over the forests.

“TANNE” タンネ という名のショールをデザインしました。ドイツ語で ｢もみの木｣ を意味します。

Mominoki Abo 2025 へ参加させていただくことが決まり、最後のお届けにふさわしい特別なデザインを、と思い描き始めた1年前。辿り着いたイメージは、Mominoki Yarn で編まれた、深き森で凛と佇むもみの木のようなショール。これ以上に特別なものはないと感じました。

もみの木のてっぺんから編み始めて、裾に向かって広がる枝葉を針葉樹らしくギザギザに形づくり、最後は幹で締めくくります。もみの木の風情を一緒に編み込んでいくように、1かせ使い切りで最後まで楽しめるデザインになっています。

ショールを纏った時に、後ろ姿はシャープなギザギザがクールな印象を与えますが、正面はセーターを肩に羽織っているかのように見え、あたたかさも感じさせます。それはまるで、凛としながら優しく見守るもみの木のよう。

もみの木で満ち溢れたそんな “TANNE” ショールの魅力を、ぜひご堪能ください。
