Tanta (Basque for “drop”) is a button-less cardigan worked seamlessly from the top down in one piece, starting with a wide shawl collar. The unusual upper body construction is achieved with sets of strategically placed increases, resulting in a modified saddle shoulder.

This cheerful cardigan features overlapping fronts and an elongated rounded back shaped with short rows.

The ragged sleeve increase lines continue into a decorative zigzag line towards the hem, accompanied by little eyelet “drops”, reminiscent of raindrops sliding down a windowpane.
