Who doesn’t like a hug? When you need a little comfort, a warm, heart-felt hug can be perfect. The Taos Hug shawl provides the warmth and the sense of being held. A more substantial sister to the Taos Rainfall shawl, it is knitted with bulky yarn in a flat rib pattern that hugs the shoulders, with a cowl-like neckline. Just like the Taos Rainfall, it can also be worn as a cowl.

Finished size: Adult S, M, L.

Measurements of unblocked, unstretched garments:
-Circumference at neck: about 26”/29”/31”
-Circumference at lower edge: about 43”/46”/49”
-Length from neck to lower edge: about 12”-16”

Gauge: in stockinette with size 10 needles, 13 stitches and 22 rounds = 4”

Needles: 24” or 32” circulars in size 9 and 10 or size to obtain gauge. I tend to knit loosely so check your gauge.

Thanks to my models Sonrisa and Ellen!
Yarn and yardage: Two 100-gram hanks of bulky weight yarn (about 100 yards / 100 g). For a contrasting color for the yoke and body you will need one 100-gram hank of each color. The Taos Hugs in the photographs are knitted with Malabrigo Mecha (bulky).
