Tapered hood scarf
This pattern is from @jasmincrochet, or Half Double Crochet, on YouTube. I simply wrote down what I did so that I could replicate the two halves to the best of my ability. This is moreso a companion to her video, which is very in-depth and should be watched fully before making this scarf. To Half Double Crochet, thank you for letting me making this pattern!
There is one key change from the pattern I’m following. I prefer to only have one turning chain when using hdc. Additionally, I continue my decreases at the bottom of the scarf until there is only one stitch left. It’s really just what you prefer. With that being said, I am not a pattern writer, so this is not perfect. For example, I have no idea how much yarn you need, because I used unlabelled yarn my grandmother gave me (it was an acrylic wool blend, and I used about two standard sizes balls of it).
Gauge isn’t particularly important for this pattern, but it is essential that you stay consistent with your tension across the two panels. Otherwise, they will not fit together right, and it will be difficult to sew together.
