THIS PATTERN IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE.

The Taproot pullover sweater is knit seamlessly on circular needles from the top down. The yoke is decorated with textures achieved through knitting faux cables and slipped stitch motifs, making this an ideal project for knitters of all levels.

Knit in fingering weight merino yarn, Taproot is perfect for transitional weather and layering over other garments. The pattern includes short row shaping at the neck and hem, tapered sleeves, and no shaping in the waist. Both sleeve and body length can be adjusted to suit your individual preference.

BONUS! This pattern includes basic guidelines to create a variation in worsted weight yarn (sample pictured in the black & white photo on left, one from the bottom). Please note that specific yarn quantities for this variation are not given in the pattern—the example shown here was knit using a little less than 3 skeins (100g each) of light worsted weight yarn for size 2.

This pattern is written for fingering/sock weight yarn. The yellow sample pictured in the color photos was knit with an indie-dyed yarn that is local to me, Urban Girl Yarns fingering (90% superwash merino wool with 10% nylon) using approximately 3 (3, 4, 4, 5) skeins in the Adobe colorway. Each skein is approx. 480 yards /440m, 125g) per skein.

GAUGE
26 sts and 34 rows = 4in/ 10cm.
Gauge was measured over stockinette stitch and colorwork (in main needles) after blocking.

SIZES
This pattern is written for five sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5). The sample pictured in color photos is worn with approximately 4 inches of positive ease.

finished measurements:

body length from underarm —10 (10.5, 11, 11.5, 12)”
sleeve length from underarm — 13 (14, 14, 15 15.5)“
upper sleeve circumference — 11.5 (12, 12, 12.5, 13)”

Body length and sleeve length are customizable.

ANOTHER BONUS! The photo at bottom left shows a cropped version of Taproot in process…sleeve stitches were picked up, ribbing knit, and bound off. (Depending on size, a few stitches may need to be decreased in the round before ribbing to make a number of stitches divisible by 4.) For sizes 1, 2, and 3, this cropped version can be knit with two 100g skeins of fingering weight yarn.
