Tarlington's gloves
Elbow-length fingerless gloves in a cosy pure wool DK yarn. These gloves appear to have small cables, but they’re actually worked using the right twist stitch, which can be worked much faster and without a cable needle!
Pattern makes 2 alike - if you wanted them mirrored, you could use a left twist stitch on the second glove instead. One size fits all as the stitch pattern is very stretchy and forgiving.
You’ll need a MC and a small amount of CC to make the contrasting edging - this uses approx. 45m overall so is the perfect use for miniskeins or odds and ends.
Why Tarlington’s gloves? Well, they’re worn by James Tarlington in my debut novel, All The White Spaces (out now from Titan Books). When I was drafting the novel way back in 2015 I gave him “biscuit-coloured” fingerless gloves with a “jaunty” red trim. Of course, I had to design and knit them. I’m now delighted to be able to release the pattern! These are extremely versatile, extremely warm gloves. Perfect for a trip to Antarctica, or just the writing-desk.
