Tashkent is first of my dream bag pattern series. Hopefully many will continue to come after this.
As its name indicates, this handbag cum clutch is themed on bead art of Uzbekistan. And the bead work artefacts displayed in The Tashkent museum of applied arts.
Uzbek people are known to the whole world for its ancient applied art. The art of making jewellery is considered as one of the most ancient. Jewellery in Uzbekistan has existed for more than three millennia. The precious products of the masters of Uzbekistan are distinguished by the unusual form, where, from fine details and elements, a truly beautiful work of art is created. The favourite material for jewellery is silver, glass beads and semi- precious stones.
The diversity of this bag points out the rich culture of this beautiful city inspired by Russian and Uzbek heritage.
I have used parachute crochet thread (18 wpi), but you can any yarn of your liking. But the overall look and size will depend on the yarn and hook used.
