This is made using a ¾” gauge, large round loom with 41 pegs (like the large Knifty Knitter). You will also need a loom hook and yarn needle.

The scarf is in garter stitch, with pockets on each end.

The hat has a garter stitch brim with the remainder knitted, except for intermittent decorative purl rows. The finished sample scarf is approximately 120cm long (excluding the tassels), depending on how deep you make the pockets.

The finished sample hat, using King Cole Gypsy Super Chunky yarn, is approximately 40cm in diameter and 22cm long. Owing to the stretchy garter stitch brim, it comfortably fits my 7 year old but also easily fits a teenager or small adult (it fits my head too).

The sample was made with 3 balls of King Cole Gypsy Super Chunky in colourway “Blu Bayou” (085) - 303 yards (276m).
