Since medieval times, fortune-tellers have been looking to the bottom of teacups to gaze into the future. As I worked this simple six-stitch-repeat cowl, the smattering of the hand-dyed speckles reminded me of reading tea leaves. While I’m not an expert in tasseography (reading tea leaves), I suspect you’ll love the simplicity of the stitches, the beautiful drape and hand of the fabric, and the wearability of this finished design. I see knitting in your future.

14 sts and 27 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in patt after blocking.

NOTES
-By using a total stitch count of a multiple of six plus one, the six-stitch repeat is offset by one stitch when working in the round. This offset creates a natural spiral effect that does not require a beginning or end of the round.
