Hello - July already!

But I don’t mind July because it’s MY BIRTHDAY MONTH!!

Sorry… I shouldn’t get so excited over such things - but I can get excited about WUL - my life-like tweedy tawny for #freebeefridayknits July!

He’s knitted all in one, joining and sewing up parts as you go - but don’t let this daunt you - there is also a video tutorial that goes with it (the link is within the patten) - so everything will be as clear as a bell!

You’ll have noticed the extensive yarn choice - these were the yarns I used but you can substitute with other similar type yarns - I tend to use mohair or lace weight yarns together with 4-ply or DK yarns for my patterns but for this project if you find a beautiful tweedy yarn then that would be just perfect - just make sure you maybe alter your needle size to suit (I suggested a 4mm/ size 6 for my choices which gives you a 8 inch owl approx.)

The eyes - I bought mine for Ebay but there are loads in Etsy and suncatchercrafteyes to choose from.

The wire legs - I bought mine from a UK company - themakerss.co.uk - there may be other suppliers - let me know if you know of any so that I can pass it on.

And the stuffing - I prefer a heavy weight stuffing called ‘un-carded’ - you can get that from teddy bears making supplies.
