This is a “fluted fabric stitch” scarf that has attached corkscrew tassles. The scarf body is easy to knit, but not boring because of the fluted fabric stitch. Both sides are attractive although not exactly the same.

On my first attempt, I knitted the corkscrew tassles separately and sewed them on. There were way too many ends to darn in! I knew there had to be a better way, so I “unvented” a method to knit and attach the tassles across each end with a single strand. This part is a little more challenging so may not be suitable for a beginner, but should be OK for someone with some knitting experience.

Yarns used are fingering or sock weight, preferably handpaint. Ball band should indicate a stockinette gauge of 7-8 st/in on US 1-3 (2.25 to 3.25 mm), although the scarf is knit on a larger size needle.
A = solid or nearly solid color
B = multicolored
You will need approximately 350 yds of the color used for the tassles, and 225 yds of the other color.
