The pattern recommends vintage size 10 crochet cotton, 2 balls white, 1 ball each shaded pink and buttercup (yellow) or “Puritan Star Spangled” crochet cotton, 5 balls gold spangle, 1 ball each yellow spangle and pink spangle. If made with the spangle (metallic twist) thread, the size increases to 27” diameter.
