These ear warmers are made using either an Addi King 46 pin or a Sentro 48 pin circular knitting machine. The ear warmers themselves are fashioned as usual, but this pattern gives explicit instructions on how to add small collegiate lettering (non-licensed) with rhinestones to show team spirit.

The rhinestone letter patches can be added to more than these ear warmers; they can be added to bags, caps, hats, wallets, keychains, and more.

Because I do not own a Cricut machine, I have written the instructions for how to make the letters with iron on transfer paper and an ink-jet printer. The collegiate lettering is included with the purchase of this pattern, from A-Z. There are no licensed letters included in this pattern; only generic collegiate letters. Many high schools use generic collegiate letters, which is what I recommend using these for.

Because I do not own a Cricut machine, there are NO instructions for use of a Cricut machine in this pattern.

Supplies Needed
30-145 yds. of any size 4 worsted weight yarn for the solid ear warmers; 45-50 yds. of color A and 90-100 yds. of color B for 2-toned ear warmers; 25-30 yds of color C for the 3 colored ear warmers
-46-48 pin circular knitting machine (I used the Addi King, but the Sentro would work as well)
-Size 5.0 mm crochet hook
-Size 9 x 12 sheet of felt in the color of your choice
-Printable iron-on transfer paper and an iron
-Ink jet printer
-Size 5.0 mm or ss20 rhinestones in the color(s) of your choice
-Gem-tac glue
-Hot glue gun and glue sticks (optional; for gluing letters to headband. You may wish to use washable fabric glue)
-Wax pencil (optional; for easier rhinestone placement)
-Foam head form (optional; to help glue letters to headband in the best placement and to keep stitches from pulling in an unbecoming way)

You will need to know basic casting on and casting off methods for the circular knitting machines.

You will also need to know the slip stitch closure method for this pattern.

I have included a YouTube video tutorial for the process of making the collegiate letters using my transfer paper method. However, there are no video instructions for making the ear warmers themselves.

There are no refunds for the purchase of my digital patterns. My patterns have been tested and edited accordingly; however, there may still be ligering errors, as I am human. If you encounter an error, please notify me and I will be happy to make the suggested edit(s) and send you a corrected copy if necessary.
