This was designed with premature babies in mind. These are great for sending to your local premature baby unit, they are always in need of quality knitted/crocheted goods as clothes so small cant be brought commercially.

These hats are tiny and quick to make (around half an hour) and are great stash buster projects. They are made in one piece so there is no seam which could irritate baby.
There is a section in the pattern to stop for an open hat. This is because many premature babies have wires and tubes which cross their head and so a traditional hat wont work, if you leave a hole in the top (especially in the smallest size) then the hat can still be on if the baby has wires.
