I love colour—not merely as decoration, but as something that can create an entire mood.

Few films demonstrate that quite as spectacularly as Dario Argento’s 1977 Suspiria. Its colours are beautiful, excessive and deeply unsettling; subtlety was clearly not invited, and I thoroughly approve.

One image in particular stayed with me: the apartment building’s atrium, where the first murder takes place. Its striking geometry, symmetry and theatrical atmosphere seemed almost made for colourwork.
Rather than reproducing the scene literally, this pattern translates its shapes and mood into knitting.
The result is a small tribute to the extravagant visual world of Suspiria: bold colour, dramatic lines and just a hint that something may be lurking in the shadows. All the drama, with considerably less blood.

Happy knitting!
