5 stitches and 6 rows = 1 inch
in 1 X 1 ribbing on hat
US 10 - 6.0 mm
US 8 - 5.0 mm
400 - 500 yards (366 - 457 m)
Scarf can be made to any size. Hat is for a woman's head but can easily be made smaller or bigger by changing the needle size and/or adding multiples of 3.

The scarf looks exactly the same on both sides.
Hat pattern is easily made different sizes by simply adding or subtracting multiples of 3 stitches.
Gauge is only for 1 X 1 ribbing on hat.
I used a little more than 2 1/2 balls of yarn for the scarf and almost 1 ball for the hat.
Equivalent yarns would be Mochi Plus or Red Heart Unforgettable.
