Teddy Bear Pull
Teddy Bear Pull is a seamless baby sweater worked from the top down, featuring an interesting hammer-sleeve construction, short-row neck shaping and a soft, shaped collar finished with I-Cord details.
Designed in three sizes from 3 to 12 months, the sweater is worked mainly in Stockinette Stitch. It begins at the neckline and is knitted seamlessly in the round, with short rows worked across the back to shape the neck and improve the fit.
The yoke uses a hammer-sleeve construction, with increases worked in three different stages: first across the front and back, then across the sleeves, and finally as raglan-style increases across all sections. Once the yoke is complete, the sleeve stitches are placed on hold while the body is worked in the round. The sleeves are then worked separately, also in the round.
To finish the sweater, stitches are picked up around the neckline to create a shaped collar worked flat in Stockinette Stitch. Double Chain Edge and I-Cord Bind Off techniques give the collar a neat finish, while a handmade I-Cord tie completes the design.
An intermediate baby knitting project combining seamless construction with thoughtful shaping and beautiful finishing details.

Because yarns with the same meterage can behave very differently, matching gauge is more important than relying on yarn weight alone.
